As parking is very limited around the school grounds please be mindful and move quickly to leave so others can have a park as well. Students who have to cross a road to get to their family car MUST use the school crossing or have a parent accompany them.
The Prep carpark is accessible via Perth Street and some street parking is also available on this side of the school. Parking is also available along Lawrence Street and in the St Patrick’s Cathedral Carpark. Please be mindful of the school crossings and appropriate speed limits when driving nearby the school.
Prep Driveway and Carpark
Parents please remember to STOP at the sign in the Prep driveway. The Prep car park is strictly for the use of families with children in Prep.
Parking near the Mercy Centre
Parking near the end of the driveway off Neil Street, beside the Mercy Centre, is strictly for deliveries and for those families needing to access the Disabled Park. It is not to be used in the morning for drop off or in the afternoon for pick up.
Before and After School Care
If you are unable to collect your child before 3.30pm please contact Hall-Thorpe Sports directly.
Strictly no parking in the Bus Zones. Police do regularly monitor these areas in the morning and afternoons.
The safety of our students is a priority and as a result we ask that everyone observes the following recommendations when using the driveways and carparks of our school:
Students who travel home by bus must move to their designated bus area, on Perth Street, as soon as they are dismissed from class. Students travelling on buses from the opposite side of Perth Street remain seated next to the bus shelter until a teacher on duty releases them to cross the road. Once they have crossed, they are required to sit in or beside the bus shelter on the other side of the road. Students travelling by the bus in Louisa Street must walk to their destination as soon as the school bell rings. There is no teacher on duty for this bus run. There is only a teacher on duty at the Perth Street bus shelter until 3:30pm. Parents/carers of students who catch a bus after 3:30pm are required to acknowledge in writing (to the school) that they are aware that their child is not supervised after 3:30pm.
Please phone the bus company if you have any concerns with your child’s bus route.
The Non State Schools Transport Assistance Scheme (NSSTAS) provides financial assistance for families transporting students to non-state schools in Queensland.
Student travel rebate applications are only open in May for Semester 1 and October for Semester 2. Please visit the School Transport website first to check if you are eligible
