SCHOOL MUSICAL
WIZARD OF OZ - Thank you!
Thank you so much to the families who cut their holidays short and brought their wonderful Year Five and Six students to school on Monday for a full rehearsal of 'The Wizard of Oz'. We are also grateful to Mrs Smith who came along to help take the roll in the morning, and Mrs Sleba who spent most of the day with us supervising and seeing just how talented our children are! We are also grateful to Mrs Daniels who also stayed with us for the whole day, and organised a wonderful team of helpers to sort out and iron the costumes we will be using for the performances.
It was a long, hot and tiring day and the children had to spend much of their time sitting silently in the hall while the senior college students ran through their scenes. We are grateful to them for their patience and cooperation as well as their brilliant onstage work. Our chorus numbers are starting to look just fantastic. We are sure they are going to be highlights within the show.
Next Rehearsal Sunday 13th October 9.30/10am to 3pm
This is a full dress rehearsal where we will also be using sound and lighting. It will be great to really get an idea of what the final show will be like. Year Six students need to arrive at the hall from 9.30am to change into their costumes before rehearsal commences. The Year Five students can have a bit of a sleep in if they like and come at 10.15am, as their number is later on in the show.
The students have a good idea how the day will go now - so bring along some lunch and snacks and a water bottle. It could be a good idea to bring along a simple board game, hand ball, UNO cards or a puzzle/colouring book for some additional entertainment. Please don't send along anything that is valuable as we move in and out of different spaces through the day and things could go missing.
Students can be picked up at 3pm. They will need to ensure that their costumes are rehung carefully on their named hanger so that we are ready for the next rehearsal.
Once again - we are very grateful to our students for their commitment - and to their families for their support.
Get your tickets soon - it's going to be great fun.
